Citrus County Sheriff's Office is working 3 separate armed robberies that happened Thursday into Friday morning.

Just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, the New China restaurant, located at 3599 N. Lecanto Highway in Beverly Hills, reported an armed robbery.

A lone subject came into the eatery holding a handgun and demanding cash.  The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money, at which time he fled from the restaurant in a southeasterly direction.

Deputies were immediately on scene, and two of the agency’s K-9 teams attempted to locate the suspect, but met with negative results.  The CCSO air unit also searched from above.  Crime scene technicians arrived to process the scene for any physical evidence.

The suspect is described as a white male, wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, black knitted cap, black gloves and sunglasses.

KangarooCardinalCounterTwo Kangaroo gas stations in Homosassa also were robbed at knifepoint early Friday morning.  The same subject appears to have committed both of these crimes.

Around 3:15 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 2275 S. Suncoast Blvd. ref: an armed robbery.  A lone male entered the store, came up to the counter and demanded cash.  He was holding a knife.

After he was given an undisclosed amount of money by the clerk, he fled from the store on foot.

The suspect is said to be a white male in his 30s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, bald and wearing glasses.

While still at this location, deputies were advised around 4:40 a.m. that a second robbery had occurred at another Kangaroo station at 6241 W. Cardinal Street.  Again, holding a knife, the suspect demanded all the money from the register.  The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man fled the store.

The suspect‘s physical description matched the one provided at the earlier robbery.

A search from the air and by K-9 units failed to turn up the suspect.

Detectives are securing and reviewing copies of the surveillance video from all three locations today and will release anything that might help to identify either subject.
