Pro Wrestler Randy “Macho Man” Savage was confirmed dead today after a serious single car accident in Pinellas County.

According to the FHP Report Ralph Mario Poffo, 58, also known as Randy the Macho Man Savage was driving his Jeep west on SR-694.

Just west of the intersection of 113^th Street North, Savage lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons.  The Jeep traveled over the raised concrete median divider, crossed over the eastbound lanes of SR-694, over the outside curb and collided head-on with a tree.

The Seminole Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical care before Savage was transported to Largo Medical where he later expired from his injuries.  Also in the vehicle at the time was Barbara L. Poffo, 56, also of Seminole. She was transported to Bayfront Medical with Minor injuries.

According to the initial report, Savage may have suffered a medical event; however, this cannot be confirmed until an autopsy is performed.

This incident remains under investigation.  Official reports and photographs are not available for release at this time.
